Antique Swirly Cheddar Bakelite 5" x 2" x .57"

Antique swirly Cheddar Bakelite block. Notice: the block on the left is fresh cut and shows a more ivory/yellow color compared to the block cut 5 months ago which has fully patina'd to its glorious Cheddar color. This material ages very fast! There is no other vintage material that polishes as well as Bakelite due to its chemical structure not utilizing any substrate. This can be ripped into a set of scales by most bandsaws.
