1981 Sterling Silver Miniature Arms Famous Knives of WWII Set by AHF w/Box & CoA
American Historical Foundation produced this limited edition set in the Sterling Silver Miniature Arms Collection, The Famous Knives of World War II, in 1981. This set comprises tiny versions of nine different knives in use by the US during WWII: the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, the U.S. M-3 trench knife, the U.S. Navy Mark 1 knife, the U.S.M.C. fighting/utility knife, the V-2 Stiletto, the U.S. Mark I trench knife, the "Gung Ho" knife, the First Ranger Battalion knife, and the U.S.A.A.F. jungle survival knife.
Each knife is crafted in sterling silver and marked STERLING © 1981 AHF.
Total weight of all pieces together is 220 grams.
These nine miniatures, ranging from approximately 3 1/4 inches long to nearly 5 inches, come in a blue velvet display box with a small booklet detailing the history of each knife and the American Historical Foundation.
Overall excellent vintage condition: surface scuffs and patina as expected of vintage silver. Please see pictures for further information on condition.
This set is extremely rare and I’ve only ever owned 2 of them while continually searching for them over the last 5 years.
